There are free clips attainable from a variety of sources, but the best place to look for free clips is on YouTube. There may be home footage that is probably not copyrighted and able to be used.

Adding a video onto YouTube is fairly easy as long as your video does not violate any of YouTube's policies on copyright and "appropriateness". If you have a video file that you made, then you are automatically eligible to upload it onto YouTube by logging into your YouTube account and using the "upload" button next to the YouTube search bar.

You will have to be able to download the video. Only the uploader of the video can download a copy of the video from YouTube unless the license is Creative Commons.
Once you upload a video onto YouTube, it cannot really be edited any more. You can only add annotations to the video, add branding, and/or replace the audio of your video with pre-approved YouTube audio. If you want to trim a song (which might still get you a copyright strike), it would be best to do it in video editing software before uploading the video onto YouTube.
When you find a music video you want to play, click on the arrow in the middle of the video player to enlarge the video, then right-click on the video player and choose Save video as...
