Taoists are most commonly found in China. They can also be found in Russia, Egypt, and California.
Since most Taoists do not believe in a God, it is difficult to say that they "pray." More accurately, Taoists meditate; most Taoists perform some sort of meditation daily, although there is no rule about this. They also read sacred texts from their religion and think about the meanings those texts contain.
China is a country that is dominant with Taoists. Taoism, also known as Daoism, is a traditional Chinese philosophy and religion that has had a major influence on Chinese culture, art, and society throughout history.
Daoists, or Taoists, live by three basic virtues known as The Three Treasures: compassion, frugality, and humility. Additionally, Taoists practice meditation, nutritious diet, and a focus on Chi which is the natural energy of the universe.
Taoists believe "Do not worry about worldly matters. Instead, meditate on nature."

In a sense Taoism is not so much a religion as a philosophy that is usually imposed on other religions. Taoists have a rather unspecific idea of divinity and afterlife. Most Taoists are Buddhists, who believe in reincarnation. Many Taoists are adherents of Chinese Folk Religions who seem to share a believe in afterlife centering around spirits of the dead who are the ancestors one should worship. Other Taoists are members of other religions with other beliefs.
The people who live along the Yangtze River are a mix of Confucianists, Shenists, Taoists, and Buddhists. It is worth noting that many Chinese people do not mind mixing religions, so most Confucianists are also Shenists, etc.

The Taoists are given credit for creating Tai Chi Chuan which is an internal martial arts style. The Taoists use martial arts in a very similar way to the Buddhists of Shaolin Temple. That is that the Taoists use the martial arts as a form of moving meditation, a method for cultivating chi, a way to keep their bodies in good physical condition, and they generally practice Tai Chi Chuan in order to teach themselves how to live and move more in harmony with Tao.
Taoists generally leave small offerings of fruit or vegetable in front of statues of the gods or the Immortals.
People who follow the religion of Taoism are called Taoists. They strive to live in harmony with the Tao, which is the source and principle of everything in the universe. Taoists seek to cultivate balance, inner peace, and harmony with nature through practices such as meditation, qi gong, and following the teachings of ancient Taoist sages.
