No.
Same reason you do
A parrot will balance on the branch of a tree and tuck its head under its wing to sleep.
Kakapo are nocturnal, flightless parrots. During the day they sleep in burrows, hollow logs or under tussocks.

All parrots must have proper and guiet 10-12 hour sleep every night. Before that they should not be waken up. Parrots should also sleep during the day for couple of hours, and they should be able to sleep peacefully then too and should not be waken up. All my parrots sleep in separate room (birdroom), in total darkness and in guiet, and they know after they've got their evening snack, they will have 15 minutes to go on their sleeping perches before lights go off. And that's what they do every night. They will sleep 12 hours, then the lights go back on and it's time to start a day. Parrots love schedule and routines. It's easier to teach parrots to go inside their cage for the night when it happens every night the same time. It will become a routine for the birds and they will not guestion it.
they fly away from any predator that comes its way
They don't work. They eat, sleep, reproduce and try to not be eaten. There's a little play in the mix also, but that's about it.

No, most cockatiels are not nocturnal. Sometimes, however, if you play with your cockatiel more at night, let's say if you work during the day, and you play with your cockatiel at night, your cockatiel may develop sleeping habits to sleep during the day, rather than night, to stay with you, so you and him can play. However, most cockatiels have the same sleeping patterns you do. But-most tiels sleep every bit you can, while you are away, or if they are on your shoulder. They sleep more in their lifetime than they are awake, so your cockatiel will take naps a LOT during the daytime, also.
