A spruce tree is a coniferous evergreen (pine needles and cones) and most maple trees are deciduous (leaves fall off).
Unlike, other pine trees, their needles actually don't fall off! :)
No, pine trees do not have leaves. They have pine needles that have a waxy coat on them. People refer to them as pine leaves sometimes, but that isn't what they are.
If you're talking about true trees (not like bamboo, which is a common misnomer) there are three types. Coniferous trees (also evergreen, etc.) have long thin leaves, that are commonly referenced as needles. Examples: Lodgepole pine, white spruce, etc. Also, the difference between pine and spruce is pine needles come off in pairs (P in pair and pine). Spruce needles come off in singles (same memory principle as pine; spruce and single). The next type is deciduis (not sure on spelling(SORRY)) which sheds its broad leafy leaves in fall. Examples:Aspen, willow, etc. Finally, the tamarack. Yes, ah, the tamarack. This is a weird combination of the afore mentioned types. I can't exactly give you a definite answer on this definition.I forget. Oops!Thank's Mr. Z for teaching me this stuff.
Pine trees are considered an evergreen. They shed needles like other trees lose their leaves, but never all of them and only after the second growing year. Hence the name evergreen.
in the fall. most trees loose their leaves in the fall.
Mostly oak and maple but also a good amount of spruce and pine evergreens. We have a great fall foliage season.
Deciduous (broadleaf) trees drop their leaves in the Autumn (fall in the USA), spending winter with bare branches. Evergreen trees (cedars, pines and firs, etc) keep their leaves throughout the year, shedding needles and regrowing as needed. The Larch drops their needles in Autumn.
One of the main Kind is Christmas trees. sometimes the needles fall on hot lights and catch on fire.
No, they do not. Deciduous trees such as Sugar Maple trees have leaves that fall off in winter. Conifers (evergreens) such as the ponderosa pine have needles and reproduce via cones.
Trees that do not loose their leaves are called Evergreens as opposed to Deciduous or those that do loose their leaves in the autumn/winter. Examples of Evergreens are Conifers- blue spruce, cedar- holly, oak.
