The Atlantic Coastal Plain meets the Piedmont Plateau along what is known as the Fall Line. This boundary stretches from New Jersey down to Alabama and marks the transition from the flat, low-lying coastal plain to the more hilly and rocky terrain of the Piedmont region.

Most rivers in Georgia originate in the Blue Ridge Mountains in the northern part of the state. These rivers flow southward through the Piedmont region and eventually reach the Fall Line before draining into the Coastal Plain.
The Piedmont Plateau is one of Maryland's three regions. It is in the middle of the Atlantic Coastal Plain and the Appalachian Mountains. Washington D.C. and Annapolis are in that area. Hope I answered your question.
