The Carib (or Kalinago People) come from Venezuela and are what the Caribbean is named after. They also live in the Lesser Antilles island. Originally coming from the northern coastal region of South America, these people are called 'Amerindians'. They are more prone to war than other groups and like to (in battles) massacre the men and keep the women as slaves, hence why often the people do not always speak the same language. 'Caribis' was what the Spanish called them. It means cannibal but they are an appealing race. The caribs dye their skin with 'roucou' - this is a red colouring and led to the Spanish legend of the red-skinned race.
