they come from the southern part of the western border of the Mississippi river, when the united states (Andrew Jackson was president) forced them to walk thousands of miles to a new location which is now known as Oklahoma. this walk is named "The Trail of Tears" because many people died on the long walk to Oklahoma. hence the "tears."
