The Galapagos Tortoise is a consumer as it eats food.
In the fable "The Tortoise and the Birds," the tortoise convinces the birds to carry him up to a feast in the sky, promising to share the food with them. However, once they reach the feast, the tortoise eats all the food himself, betraying the birds' trust.
At pet shops they sell turtle and tortoise food.

Unfortunately, it is a myth that turtles and tortoises can leave or change their shells. The shell is actually a hard, protective covering over the turtle or tortoise's ribs. So if you find an empty tortoise shell that means that that tortoise has died and decomposed.
It is a reptile and its favourite food is letuce. ( YUM )
Then it dies
Turtles move because it is an essential process to be carried out in order for it to survive. It needs to move to be able to get food and energy. Hope this helps =)
