YOu do not want the bird's head to get caught between the bars so you must ensure the cage is suitable in size and space between the bars. Another very important thing to look for is if you buy a powder coated cage you must do a detailed inspection making sure there are no spots in the coting that have chipped off or your bird will find them and keep pealing off the coating causing the cage to rust.
