Finding Owner & Service ManualsDo an on-line search [Google, Yahoo, etc.] for "Exide Battery." Depending on a manufacturer's whims, you may or may not find the full manual on-line, but you will find contact info for the manufacturer, and you can contact them to obtain a manual.
I have found the Exide Model 10900 battery charger to be a nuisance when connected to a slightly discharged battery. Open connection voltage ~ 12.4 volts. The charger refuses light the Charging LED and will not operate. The only way to get the charger to enable is to either connect another charger or battery momentarily so that it senses some higher voltage I presume in order to help it enable itself to charging mode. This must be some safety feature that has gone out of calibration I suspect. Manual mode chargers would not have this problem.
Exide Industries - founded in 1947 - has its headquarters in Kolkata, India.
Exide batteries are manufactured by Exide Technologies, one of the world's oldest and leading manufacturers of lead acid batteries based in the US with global operations. W. W. Gibbs founded the company in 1888 under the name Electric Storage Battery Company, purchasing patents from inventor Clement Payen. The first battery carrying the Exide label was made in 1900. Exide means "excellent oxide".
Exide is the main producer, distributors, and recyclers of lead acid batteries mainly for vehicle use. Owners of vehicles will often visit an Exide store to switch their vehicle battery.
