You need to tell us the year and denomination of the coin. Depending on the year and denomination a mintmark (if any, most coins prior to the 1980s did not use a "P" mintmark for Philadelphia and cents still do not) the mintmark may be on the obverse (Front) of a coin, the reverse or even on the edge! Sometimes the mintmarks are huge and easily spotted (such as the 1942-1945 war nickels) or tiny and in an obscure place such as the mintmarks on most Walking Liberty half dollars.
