A license plate light is put on almost every car. The power wire is probably already there. Look close for a loose or unplugged looking wire around your license plate area. If you have no wire you'll have to run one and tie into a running light in one of your tail lights. Hope that helps.
Shoukld be the fuse for parking/tail, and dash lights

It is one big peice that must be removed. If you open the trunk, look on the inside of the lid behind the license plate, and you will find a few nuts that once removed, will allow you to remove the entire rear facia panel that the license plate bolts to and which houses the "PONTIAC" lights.
If you lose a license plate or plates and need the license plate number, you can look up your license plate number even if you no longer physically have your own.
I just saw a handsome guy driving by. I noted his license plate number. My girl friend told me there is such kind of free license plate lookup. How do I find this free license plate lookup service?
It is not possible to find old license plate numbers. The numbers are not public information. If it was your own license plate, you may be able to find it out from your auto insurance carrier, who may still have it on file.
1. Open the trunk and reach behind/above the license plate to find the backside of the two licence plate lights. 2. Turn them each about an 1/8 of a turn to remove the light and an associated plastic housing. Remove the lights from the plastic housings (this was difficult ... apparently they get stuck with age). Replace the old lights with new ones purchased at an auto parts store. 3. Put the plastic housings with new lights back into from where they came.
The Solara license plate light fuse is n the fusebox under the dash. The box is behind the coin holder on the Gen I Solara and the far left on the Gen II (04 and later). For the Gen II car the license plate fuse is #30. I don't have the list for the earlier vehicle. You'll find a diagram and numbers on the inside of the fuse box lid. That fuse also supplies power to the fog lights, tail lights, parking lights etc so if those things are working your problem isn't the fuse, more likely the bulbs. Cheers

the best way to have a license plate check done is to find someone who knows how to do a license plate check. usually the person that knows what they are doing will not mess up the job.
