assuming it's a Northstar engine. It's in the center of the engine below the intake plenum chamber.
This job is very difficult, and you probally should find a garage to do this for you. The starter is located inside of the motor.

Under the bonnet
The starter on a 1986 Cadi Eldorado is located under the car right to the left of the oil pan. Look for your flywheel, and you will find your starter.

This is a fun one. Disconnect battery cables first! Remove top plastic cover on engine (2 screws). Then fuel rail. Then plenum. Down under all that stuff in the center on top of the engine, you will find one starter.
You may want to go to a car parts store, and get a repair manual for your car. They cost about $16.00 Or, go to a Public Library.
