The Magi Visit the Messiah
1 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi[a] from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him."
The Three Wise Men were - according to tradition - Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar.
If you mean the Christmas story, their names are Balthasar, Caspar and Melchior. However, these names are not found in the Bible. They have been introduced in the Middle Ages.
You're getting two Bible stories mixed up. There is a story in the Bible in Luke chapter 10 where Mary is sitting at Jesus' feet and listening to Him, while her sister Martha is cleaning the house. The story of the wise men, which was at the time of Jesus' birth, occurred in Matthew chapter 2, but there was nothing in that story about someone not being able to travel with them.
The bible does not mention who was the first wise man to visit Jesus.
Certainly not, as the bible says, the wise men came from far away countries on camels.
The story of the magi is found in the Gospel of Matthew in the New Testament of the Bible. It recounts the visit of the Magi, or the Three Wise Men, to the infant Jesus after his birth.
The bible does not mention the names of the wise men.
The Bible doesn't say - presumably more than 1 as it's a plural. People tend to assume there were 3 as there were three gifts (Matthew 2:11). But there could have been many wise men because each of them could have brought the same gift.
I think you may be thinking of the wise men who came to worship Jesus when He was a Baby or young Child. We can find that story in Matthew 2:1-12. We do not know how many wise men there were, but three gifts are mentioned as given by them to Jesus. The story of the shepherd's who saw the baby Jesus is found in Luke 2:8-20. We do not know the number of shepherd's who visited Jesus. These two stories are only mentioned once in the Bible.
Be sure and check your info with the Bible. The Wise Men were following a star, in order to find Jesus. The shepherds were different.
Where does the bible state that there were 3 wise men? Could have been 2 or 10--it doesn't say how many.
the quantaliones, refered in the bible as the seventy wise men, they where really important and everyone had strong respect towards them.
