To find Rock Smash, you have to have beaten Whitney in the Goldenrod City gym. Then head to the right of the gym, and if you go up a bit too, there is a house. There is a woman in there who is always watering her flowers. If you have beaten Whitney she'll give you a Squirtbottle. At a crossroads between Azalea, Goldenrod and Ecruteak, there is a weird-looking tree, which is actually the Pokemon Sudowoodo. If you use the Squirtbottle on it it awakens and you battle it. Once the battle's over, follow the path east towards Azalea. The first man you see will give you HM 06 Rock Smash for getting rid of the "tree". In the game Heart Gold and Soul Silver it is HM 06 Rock Smash so it helps out for anyone worrying about it only being able to teach to one Pokemon.

∙ 16y agoIt's not an HM, just a TM, and you get it by removing the sudowoodo (wiggly tree) and talking to the guy to the east of there.
