Here's a short guide on tattoos:

Gaia's tattoos are made by exchanging Ink plus a little gold at the Skin Tyte body mod shop. Ink comes in Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Pink, White, Brown, Black, and Gold. Tattoos can be made in one color or many. Some styles require more than one of a single color and some of the better ones require multiple inks of multiple colors.

1. For tattoos, you obviously need ink! Ink can be procured in two ways.

a. You can collect bugs in Towns and trade them in at Skin Tyte for ink. This takes a LOT of bugs [100-200 per bottle of ink] and therefore a lot of time, but it's free.

b. Ink can be purchased in the Marketplace. Some colors cost more than others, so research!

Once you have your Ink, proceed to Skin Tyte. When you select the Exchange button underneath the shopkeeper, the game will automatically show you what kinds of tattoos you can buy based on what Inks you have. You can then click on the tattoo you want and exchange the ink and gold for it.
