Serenade is in Secret Area 3, at the top of the steps behind the "door of honor." You'll need all 200 standard chips to open it and fight him. And you have to have beaten the game. That helps too.

∙ 13y agoThe Serenade GigaChip is available after defeating the Serenade Time Trials, which are only available after you have defeated Serenade. The Time Trials consist of alpha copies of all the previous Navis (excluding Serenade and Bass, obviously) which must be defeated within a time limit using an extra folder. Defeating the Time Trials reaps the reward of Serenade in White and DarkAura in Blue.

The Punk chip is still only available by special event (long since over) and cheating regardless of version.
