To find Dialga you have to go to Spear Pillar. There you will batttle two Team Galactic grunts. After defeating them you will meet Mars and Jupiter. They will prepare to battle you, when suddenly your rival comes out. He will team up with you for a double battle against Mars and Jupiter. You then defeat them and go on to battling Cyrus. Your rival will leave after winning the double battle. When you beat Cyrus, you can battle Dialga or Palkia (the same rules apply for both Diamond and Pearl). if you capture it, you can get the Adamant Orb or the Lustrous Orb - the Adamant is for Dialga, the Lustrous for Palkia. You cannot get the items without catching or defeating the Pokemon first.
