In English (U.S.) especially, you put a question mark at the end of a written question.
If the sentence asks a question or a query, then a question mark is put after the entire string of words is finished.
This means that you are expecting an answer from the sentence that is asking a question or questions. Ex: How many eggs do you want?
It can also mean that when you see a question, you can also think about it and answer it in your head (like a self-help question). Ex: Do you think positive thoughts to begin your day?
So saying, "How are you?" needs the question mark (?) afterwards because you are asking a question.
Typically you can spot a question if the sentence starts with the five (5) W's:
Another word that typically tells you that a question is coming in the sentence is when the sentence starts with the word, 'how'. (See examples way above).
So examples for the above 5 W's could be:
Who was the first actress ever known?
What is the best breakfast to eat?
Which band do you like the most?
Where are my socks?
Why do people get sad?
[This is for the English language though. Other languages can have question marks at the beginning of the sentence AND at the end.]
Question mark (?) is put at the end of a sentence to indicate that it is a question.
No. it's not necessary to put a period after a question mark.
No, a question mark alone is sufficient.
You use a question mark because it's a question. You are asking them how they are doing.
you put an upside down question mark in the beginning and then a regular question mark at the end. Example: ¿Donde esta? The way to do a updside down question mark when typing is: SHIFT+CTRL+ALT+?

A question mark (?)
at the end
In a quotation question, the question mark should be inside the quotation. "Where did Mark go?" asked Zack. Anna replied, "I don't know. Where did he go?"
It depends on whether you say or ask the request. If it's a question, then you put a question mark; if it's a statement, then you put a period.
At the end of an interrogative sentence.
questions asked are always to be followed with a mark of question (?) hence if an astrix is to be placed then it has to come after the question mark. if the astrix is part of the question then it has to be placed before the question mark
