Last I heard, there was no such thing as radiator sealant in a commanche. If you have a hole, you need a new radiator. Try tightning down all the hoses first, though.
the water overflow tank
**I meant to add that the radiator cap is not to be found on this vehicle. Can it go into the coolant fill tank?
Sealant is a very temporary fix that should only be used as a last resort. It may patch the leak but will also likely plug up the heater core and elements, making it impossible to use the heater or air conditioner. If you do decide to put sealant in, you can remove the hose leading into the radiator and pour it into that, or put it directly into the coolant reservoir tank. Not all cars have a traditional radiator cap that is easily accessible.
To install a thermostat on a 1989 Jeep Comanche with a 6-cylinder engine, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the radiator hose connected to the thermostat housing and unbolt the housing to access the thermostat. Replace the old thermostat with the new one, ensuring it is oriented correctly with the spring side facing the engine. Reassemble by reattaching the housing and radiator hose, then reconnect the battery and check for leaks.
The bottle on the firewall with the radiator cap on it is where you add coolant.
Either the radiator or the overflow tank
in your coolent overflow tank then squeeze the upper radiator house to pump it through the rest of the radiator and to the engine.
the 88 has a 'closed system'... you fill it through the overflow resevior....
the problem you arehaving isn't with the transmission its with your radiator it has a crack in the side where transmission lines hook to you need a new radiator and id also do a complete transmission flush to explain whats it is your coolant is mixing with the transmission fluid in the radiator replace your radiator and you problems are gone after you flush the transmission that is id do that before i put the new radiator in if i was you
Yes, you should use a 50-50 mix of distilled water and 5 year, red, HOAT antifreeze/coolant.
To replace the valve cover gaskets on a 2003 Jeep Liberty, the valve cover is removed. The old gasket is then removed from both the valve cover and the manifold (old gasket will come off in pieces on both sides). Then spread the sealant on the manifold, place the new gasket on, then put sealant on top of the gasket and replace the valve cover and bolt down.
The thermostat on a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.2L is replaced by draining the coolant and disconnecting the radiator hose. The housing is then unbolted, the thermostat removed, and a new unit put in its place.
