After you get "Mermaid Kick" at some point in Atlantica, to be able to use it, you have to go to the pause menu and go to the section "Abilities". From there, select "Shared Abilities" and activate "Mermaid Kick" by pressing X while it's highlighted. NOTE: You can only use this ability in Atlantica. Now that you have it activated, you will be able to swim against the water currents( Calm Depths). Press circle repeatedly to swim against the air currents. This way you won't have to travel by riding the dolphin.
