It comes from the Greek 'Christos' meaning 'the anointed one' or 'the saviour'.
Many people believe, in error, that 'Christ' is Jesus' 'surname' as in 'Jesus Christ'. However it is not his name but his title - just like Presedent Obama or Queen Elizabeth. So it is equally valid to call him Jesus Christ or Christ jesus - both mean the same thing: Jesus the anointed one, or Jesus the saviour.
Sorry about the spelling my grammer is bad...The name jesus Christ is not the true name of the savior, it is YAHSHUA MESSIAH" _ the name jesus christ came from the first council of NICAEA...When Constantine's wanted to create a new god for his empire to worship and unit all religions factions under one deity...people were asked to pick who ther new god would be and picked the names of five gods...and Contantine picked the druid god Hesus and the god krishna and combined them and Hesus Krishna was ther new god and over time it evolved into jesus christ because ther was no letter "J" until the ninth century.
Christ is from the Koine Greek word Christos, which in turn is the Greek form of the Hebrew word Mashiah(Messiah).

We can pray in either names Jesus or Jesus christ and he will hear us for sure.
That is a wonderful question, but the Bible does not use much punctuation, so in reality, speaking of the grammar, it is suppose to be written Jesus, Christ. not Jesus Christ. As many references in the KJV of the Bible, is Christ Jesus, written correctly Christ, Jesus, or Jesus, Christ. It is referring to Christ.
Jesus Christ has many names, but none are considered middle names. Officially, Jesus has no middle name as that wasn't a tradition in ancient Hebrew culture. Also, Christ is not Jesus's last name. Christ comes from cross. He died for us on the cross. Hence, Christ, Jesus Christ. No middle name, no last name really. Just our Savior, for the believers and non-believers.
Oh yes that is very true that Jesus Christ will come to earth again in all his glory.
