Kroger (and all other gas stations, no matter what brand) obtain their gas from trucks that fill up at fuel racks near refineries around the USA. Typical racks are Exxon or CITGO. Your local Kroger obtains their gas from whichever truck happens to be in your town when the station needs a refill (probably came from a rack in your state or a neighboring state). Essentially, all gasoline is fossil fuel. When you buy gas from Kroger you are only paying for their advertising. If you are very curious (and have spare time) watch the trucks that refill the gas pumps in your town. You will notice that truck just drives from one gas station to another, refilling their pumps no matter what brand =) Gas is gas.
