Winnipeg primarily sources its water from the Shoal Lake, located about 100 kilometers east of the city. The water is treated at the Winnipeg Water Treatment Plant before being distributed to residents. The city’s water supply is known for its high quality, benefiting from natural filtration through the surrounding environment. Additionally, Winnipeg has a system of aqueducts that transports the water to the city.
