Where does a flood start?

nFloods are sometimes when to much rain comes down from the sky (clouds) and all the rain doesn't have a home…. So it just lays down on the ground and too much rain come down and it goes everywhere!!L nAnother type of flood is when there is to much water in the rivers.. So they go find a new home and to much rain wants to find a new home so then it all piles up, and the flooding starts.

It almost always starts with a huge amount of rain, but there are many things that help it along. If the ground is hard, then the water just sits on top, but if the ground is soft, the water seeps in. However there is only so much water that can be stored, and when the ground is full, it acts like a sponge and squeezes it all out. If you lived at the bottom of a hill, or a mountain Ext. it would be more likely to flood, because it is easy for the rain to run down. Another way a flood can start is when the rain flows into a river, and bursts the bank.

floods start by dry land and when the land is eating by big scary monstars called big boggy men in purple suits and eat every body and then it rains.THIS IS TRUE!!!

they start when there has been a lot of rain and then the ground absorbs it if it is t much then the water will stay there

Flash floods can possibly start when there are heavy rains. It can also occur when a dam accidentally breaks.
