Air enters the the respiratory tract through either the nose or mouth.
Air can enter your body through the nose and mouth when you inhale. It can also enter through the trachea, also known as the windpipe, which connects the nose and mouth to the lungs.
Air or CO2 must pass through the respiratory system, specifically the lungs. During exhalation, these gases move out of the lungs and are expelled from the body through the nose or mouth.
Warm and wet air does move through both mouth and nose. You can shut your mouth and air will just come from the nose.
