Calcium comes from stars, I think from white dwarf stars that go supernova. Hopefully someone can improve this by giving more specifics. Anyway, after the soft earth metal is formed it then floats off into space until it meets other stardust to form a planet, then plants pick it up, then cows eat the plants, then you eat the cow (or it's milk, or as in some African tribes, it's blood).
