The liver. Sometimes the lungs or bones.
Anal cancer and colon cancer are not exactly the same thing. Colon cancer occurs in the colon, also known as the large intestine. It usually occurs as the result of malignant (cancer) degeneration of a precancerous lesion known as a polyp. Anal cancer occurs in the anal canal. A different type of cell lines the anal canal and thus, it is a different type of cancer. They metastasize (spread) differently and are treated in somewhat different ways depending on the cell type involved.
Colon cancer tumors typically develop within the colon or rectum and do not grow outside the body. However, advanced colon cancer can metastasize, meaning cancer cells can spread to other parts of the body, such as the liver or lungs. In rare cases, if a tumor erodes through the intestinal wall, it may lead to complications like perforation, but the tumor itself remains internal. Overall, it is not possible for a colon cancer tumor to exist outside the body in its original form.
As the malignant cells work their way to other areas of the body, they again become locally invasive in the new area to which they have spread. These tumor deposits, originating in the colon primary tumor, are then known as metastases.
It means a cancer is spreading
Some studies have shown an increase in colorectal cancer as a result of exposure to asbestos. In addition, someone with peritoneal mesothelioma could see the cancer metastasize into other organs including the colon. The links at the bottom should provide you more information.
WHAT COLON CANCER SIMPTOMS ARE?
Colon cancer has been recognized since ancient times, with early descriptions dating back to the ancient Egyptians. The first modern documented case of colon cancer was in 1845 by Scottish surgeon Dr. Walter Hayle Walshe.
skin cancer
As a general rule of oncology, any cancer can metastasize to any other part of the body. With colon cancer, the chance of the growth spreading to the bladder is not as significant as other cancers, but it is a notable risk nonetheless. The most common avenue for cancer metastasis is through the bloodstream. Since the colon and bladder do not share an explicitly direct blood path, the risk of this spreading is lessened.
