A documentary (can't remember the name) said that in the mid-late 70's early 80's the Columbians wanted to find a way to make more off the cocaine they had already been smuggling into the United States for decades. Between them and some greedy lowlife in LA, crack was born. It was introduced to the black community by an American ali of the Columbians who helped with its first distribution, who then, recruited black folks by offering them instant kingpindom. Bottom line.....ignorance by unsuspecting guinea pigs who were already suffering from high unemployment and racism exploded the crack epidemic that not only affected an entire generation, but their own families as well. The rest is ugly history.
