If You Have a save file, go to Applications folder, Right click( control+click) the GTA San Andreas icon and choose "Show Package Contents from the drop down box.
Then navigate to Contents / Resources / Transgaming / c_drive / Rockstar Games / GTA San Andreas / data. There is where your save games should be. This is only for mac.
Go to your user-folder and then:
library -> Application Support -> Grand Theft Auto Vice City -> p_drive -> Documents -> GTA Vice City User Files
the file name is "GTAVCsf*.b" with * = number of the save game-slot

You can restart a saved file again, Click New Player and begin playing the game, when you want to save the game again before closing down click save and then save in the new name, type over the name you no longer need.

That depends on where the save file was located. If it was somewhere in your personal documents, it's possible that the save file still works
you press file save as and you can make your own name.

It is not possible to delete a file You can only overwrite the saved files. First click on "New Game", the type the name you want the file to be saved as, start playing the game, when it asks you if you want to save say yes: then click onto the name you wish to overwrite this will then be saved in the name you typed in at the start.
Ctrl+S should bring up the save menu. Type the file name in the slot and click save.
It is a save file i began when playing the game o a cd but i recently downloaded it and the save file is still there but it won't appear in my save slots when i open the game. What do I do?
Save the file with file name in double quotes comma A for ASCII. Example: SAVE "myfile.bas",A
Rename the game save back to what it was. If you cannot remember, save the old data to your computer, then make new save game data of said game and rename your old data to the new save data's name.
no it doesnt corrupt your game but it does freeze it but dont worry about your save :)
