Allow me to say, that in Exodus, Chapter 21, verses 2 to 6, there are rules for the regulation of slavery. There are more rules in Leviticus, Chapter 25, Verses 44 to 46. In Deuteronomy, Chapter Fifteen, Verses 12 to 15, there are rules for the emancipation of slaves. The freed slaves have be provided with adequate provision for their sustenance. This was not done in the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863. Let me say, that the Bible does not permit the taking of slaves from your own people, race, or nationality. Israel could take slaves from her alien residents or from the Canaanites. Slaves were required to obey the Sabbath Day and to keep it holy. Hebrew slave must be freed in the seventh year of their slavery in the Book of Exodus, which I already mentioned. Saint Paul commands slaves to obey and submit to their masters in the Book of Ephesians, Chapter 6, Verse 5 and in the Book of Colossians, Chapter 3, Verse 22 to 24. Some people say, that slavery is morally wrong. The Rev. Alexander Campbell, the founder of the Disciples of Christ and the First Christian Church would disagree with those people. Nowhere in the Bible does it say, that slavery is wrong. If slavery is wrong, then you will not find that in the Bible.
Slaves were treated with kindness and respect as members of the family.
People hurt slaves in various ways, including physical abuse such as whipping, beating, and torture. They also subjected slaves to psychological abuse by dehumanizing them, restricting their freedoms, and perpetuating a system of fear and control. Slaves were also often denied basic human rights, such as proper nutrition, healthcare, and living conditions.
Slaves have no choices. That is why it is called slavery. They have no say as to what they do, when they do it, or how it is done. They are completely controlled by their masters.
Not likely.
Can't speak to the quran, but the Bible says that we are to submit to the authorities over us, and also that we are to pray for our leaders. We are to obey the laws of the land.
To my knowledge, God never told us to be like Him. He told us to obey Him.
The former slaves either stayed with their masters. But they didn't say they were slaves, they are now employers of their old master. The employers got paid a higher amount.
This is in Ephesians 6:1. "Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right."
A:The Bible never mentions America or American slaves. However, the Thirteenth Amendment was ratified in 1865, resulting in freedom for all slaves in the United States. From that date, slaves no longer existed in America (although it took over a century for their descendants to be treated equally).
