In the lungs.

Blood enters the lungs and is oxygenated in the capillaries, whose one-cell-layer-thick walls allow a diffusion of carbon dioxide and oxygen to happen.

What gas do fish take in during photosynthesis?

Fish do not photosynthesis as this is the process of converting sunlight and carbon dioxide, into oxygen and energy. Fish use a process called ram ventilation to transfer the oxygen in water into their bloodstream.

What is the function and definition of lungs?

The definition is, The respiratory organs of air-breathing animals, and the function is, to transport oxygen into the Bloodstream and to take carbon dioxide out of the bloodstream.

Where in the lungs does gas exchange take place?

In the alveoli (also called air sac) is the capillary-rich sac in the lungs where the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide takes place by diffusion. The oxygen poor blood goes from the right ventricle and into the lungs where the co2 is traded for Oxygen in the alveoli and back through the heart and out to the body.

What part of the body take oxygen that your body needs from the air and put it in your bloodstream?

Your nose and mouth.

How does you body know when to take a breath?

most people by measuring the amount of CO2 (carbon dioxide) in your bloodstream. if you have COPD then the body checks on the amount of oxygen in the bloodstream

What take oxygen that your body needs from air and put it in your bloodstream?

The lungs are part of the respiratory system that with the circutory system add oxygen to your blood.

Why does transfer of heat not place by conduction in fluids?

Wrong, transfer of heat by conduction does take place in fluids.

Which energy transfer can take place with little or no matter present?

The type of energy transfer that can take place with little or no matter present is radiation.

Where does most gas exchange between blood and tissue take place?

In the alveoli of the lungs. This is where oxygen diffuses from the lungs into the bloodstream and carbon dioxide diffuses out of the bloodstream and into the lungs.

Why does transfer of heat not take place in fluids?

Wrong, transfer of heat does take place in fluids. In fact it can take place more efficiently in fluids than in solids because convection is possible in fluids.

What is the final destination of the air breathed in?

I depends. There are two separate answers. In the lungs the final destination is the alveoli. This is where the gas exchange takes places to allow oxygen rich blood into the bloodstream and take out the carbon dioxide. In the body once the blood is oxygen rich in the bloodstream it travels through ateries and eventually to capillary beds where gas exchange takes place. The oxygen depleted blood travels back to the alveoli in the lungs and out into the atmosphere.

Where does exchange of oxygen take place?

The exchange of oxygen takes place in the alveoli. It is found in our lungs
