Power switch
First check the switch on the brake pedal to see if its releasing. If not, depending on the type of switch it is, some form of lubrication (like WD-40) will do the trick. If the switch is OK then it may be a short somewhere in the brake light wiring or even a relay, again, depending on the type of car or truck you have.
Switch Mode Power Supply =)
it is used to supply power to motherboard and other peripherals
The switch its self has no power. When you flip the switch it connects the circuit allowing electricity to flow through to the light bulb. The lightbulb works by creating resistance(the filment) which gives off energy in the form of heat and light. So what gives it power is you :).
An auto-switching power supply is one which can switch between power inputs instantaneously, preventing a loss of current to the machine. These power supplies may have redundancy built into them (in effect, they may be one or more traditional power supplies built to work together), or they may not. the key is that they have multiple power inputs (usually in the form of two or more power cords), and can chose which ones to draw power from.
The plural noun form of a switch is switches:e.g. one switch; two switches.
