A:Mark 6:3 says. "Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon?"

For the author of Matthew Jesus was a mortal with divine powers, but he was reluctant to call Jesus a village carpenter and only refers to Jesus as a carpenter's son. At Matthew 13:55, "Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?"

The authors of Luke and John chose not to mention such a lowly occupation, even for Joseph.
