i have had a little silver/grey mouse now for two and a half years and would like to know what type it is and how long can they live if looked after very carefullt

it is most likely either a mouse or a rat, we once had a field mouse in our house... we used a live trap which you can perchase almost anywhere, then we let it go far away so it would never get in any house again.
