An electricity power station gets its electricity by spinning electricity turbines. A turbine, or generator, is a magnet spinning inside a coil of copper wire. The turbine is driven by wind, water, or steam from geothermal, nuclear, or from burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas), biomass or renewable bio-methane.
A:This sounds like a silly question, because the power station makes electricity. However if it is shutdown to start with, the auxiliaries on the station need some power before it can be started. This would normally be imported from the grid connections, so that necessary pumps, instruments, computers, etc can be powered up ready for start up. On nuclear stations there are always also diesel generators which can cope with requirements for in house power in the event of losing the grid connection. A:All power plants, not just nuclear, have a means to generate auxiliary electricity to get the plant up and running. These are usually diesel generators that are started by batteries.A power station

Electricity
it depends on how big the power station is
The first power station on the Waikato River is named the Horahora Power Station. It was built to provide electricity to the Martha gold mines in Waihi.
Battersea Power Station ceased generating electricity in 1983.
Ireland's largest power station is the Aghada gas-fired station. It is near Midleton in the east of the county of Cork. It is an electricity generating station, owned by the ESB (Electricity Supply Board), Ireland's main electricity provider.
A charging station works by providing electricity to the car it is charging. There is no way for a charging station to not use electricity because the form of power it transmits is electricity.
Depends on what kind of power station it is, can bea nuclear power plant, a coal-burning power plant, a wind turbine, or a hydroelectric power station.

A coal-fired power station uses chemical energy from burning coal to generate electricity. A nuclear power station uses nuclear reactions to generate electricity.
