butane, in bic cigarette lighters it is found in a liquid form along with other components.
Commonly used is butane.
You push the little metal wheel to create a spark and then when you push the button the lighter fluid in the bottom is released. The fluid changes to a gas (Butane) when it is exposed to the air. The spark lights the gas which sets on fire. The flame will continue burning until you release the button.
Cigarettes do not contain propane. Propane is a flammable gas. Most cigarette lighters contain butane (though some refillable lighters use a naptha or petroleum-based lighter fluid), and that is used to light the cigarettes, but you are not constantly breathing that.
Oil and natural gas energy is only a small part of the Oil Industry. Keep in mind, the oil used for your car, the propane for you BBQ, the Butane for your lighters, soldering irons, and blowtorches, and even more all come from the Oil Industry. It is beneficial because it is so common. It is not beneficial because it isn't renewable.
In normal disposable lighters like bic it is butane gas, in Zippo lighters you can use most liquid that lights with a spark, but most people just use zippo brand naptha fuel.

No. Bic lighters -- and most other throwaway lighters -- use butane gas, which liquefies under modest pressure. When struck, the pressure tank is opened and the butane vaporizes and travels through a small orifice, or jet, to the spark wheel. Zippos, of course, use a naphtha-based liquid lighter fluid and a woven textile wick, which conducts the fluid to the spark wheel.
One can't carry gas lighters. They are highly inflammable
Commonly used is butane.
"Butane" is a highly flammable gas used in lighters and small torches.
push the button and scroll the little metal thing to get more gas!
No; If you look at the bottle you can see that three is liquid in it
it depends on where you buy it. i don't think there is a legal age. some gas stations will sell it to you if you are under 18. i just bought a zippo at a oriental store and i asked if you have to be 18 and they said no. but you have to be 18 to buy the fluid for it. i know you can buy bic lighters and such at a king soopers too....
No. A pellet gun would use compressed air.
Age doesn't matter if they don't ID you. I'm 15 and buy lighters and lighter fluid at Walgreens all the time
matches are unbelievably better than lighters, although lighters do stay lit longer they, they also produce gas , so whenever lit with a cigarrete you inhale the gas first unlike with a match.
