Most geckos are insectivores with some as the exception being omnivorous and enjoying pollen, saps, and fruit. These animals are predators and will seek out live insects as prey items. Slower, sturdy geckos are typically ambush predators while most species with setea on their feet are generally very quick and have no problem chasing down a roach/beetle/worm etc..
