The left atrium sends blood into the left ventricle, while the left ventricle pumps blood to the rest of your body (everywhere except the lungs) via the aorta.
The left and right ventricles of the heart receive the blood from the left and right atria respectively. The ventricles then send blood into the arteries. So technically they send and receive, but I guess their main functions is to send blood to the body and lungs.
The left atrium is the cardiac chamber that sends blood to the left ventricle. It receives oxygenated blood from the lungs through the pulmonary veins and then contracts to push this blood into the left ventricle, which subsequently pumps it out to the rest of the body.
