The headwaters of the North Fork lie in Pocahontas County within the Monongahela National Forest. If yo follow WV Route 39/55 East out of Richwood, the North Fork parallels the road. The heawaters are approximately 12-13 miles East of Richwood and approximately 7-8 miles West of the Cranberry Mountain Nature Center which sits at the junction of 39/55 and Route 150.
