The Crosby surname originated in Ireland. It was spelled alot differently, and I forget exactly how it was spelled.I have Crosby ancestry from both of my parents.Neither one of my parents knew that they were distant cousins before they were married.I am the one that proved it,by doing genealogy research.I suspected it before I found out for 100% sure, because of these reasons. My dad's mother told me about all of her grandparents. My maternal grandmother's maiden last name was Crosby, and she was born in Quitman,Georgia, which is in the southern part of GA.My dad's mother's mother's maiden last name was Crosby, and she was born in southern Georgia, and her dad's name was Quitman,Crosby.I found out searching records about all of the rest of my ancestry, and even proved that everything that my family told me about my ancestry,is true. The Crosby's on my maternal grandmother's side married alot of Native American indians.
