No. Cast iron is brittle, and shatters like glass.
The very first ones were made with bamboo. ********** Later barrels were cast of brass and bronze. Iron barrels were made by heating and twisting strips of iron or steel, reheating, twisting around a rod, reheating, and hammer welding.

Certain high pressure plumbing pipe will work for black powder guns, and is sometimes used by re-enactors. Do not attempt this without consulting with an expert. It can be lethal. Pressures on these rarely exceed 10,000 PSI "Zip guns" can be made out of a variety of pipe, but the same warnings apply. Early gun barrels were made from steeled iron wrapped around a form, or wound around a form (so-called "damascus" or twist barrels). Modern firearms use alloy steels which are forged and machined. Not poured and cast pig iron. The usual alloys are 416 stainless, or the 4130-4150 range of chrome-molybdenum steels. Modern gun barrels have to withstand up to 70,000 psi (pounds per square inch). Iron pipe is mainly used for rainwater soak aways... go figure
The first were made from bamboo, which is a type of grass.
The original Gatling gun had six to ten barrels which rotated and fired independently. This was one of the earliest machine guns made.
Most guns in the early years were either made from cast iron and wood parts like a musket, or just iron like the first machine gun. But in modern times guns are made from Aluminum, Steel, or Plastic

Made by a machine. Machines never make the same thing EXACLTY the same.
Depends on the maker. Some gun barrels are the finest quality type 4140 chrome moly or 416 stainless steel with button rifling. Hi-Point pistol frames are made from a high-impact polymer and barrels are from an alloy stainless steel.
