What ancient city in Akhetaten was founded by Amenophis?

You may be thinking of Tell el Amarna. Akhetaten WAS an ancient city, which then became known as Tell, el Amarna after it was destroyed by Pharoah Horemheb. Seeing as Akhetaten was a city in itself, I cannot see how It could really have another one 'in' it. Akhetaten was founded as the new capital for the worship of the sun disc 'Aten' by the heretical Pharaoh Akhenaten, also known as Amenhotep IV, also known as Amenophis IV, which is a greekified version of Amenhotep. This kind of worship was controversial as it put the other Gods of Egypt on the side lines. It caused massive upheaval in Egyptian society as it basically destroyed everything that the society was based on, and undermined the authority of the priesthood who were previously very powerful and in charge of alot of the important aspects of keeping the kingdom afloat. As you can imagine, Akhenaten's uprooting of the social and religious continuity of Egypt caused a massive growth of discontent towards him personally as well as Aten worship in general, and less than 50 years after Akhenaten's death, his beautiful city of Akhetaten was demolished.
