Arthur (Artur) Rubinstein was proud of being a Jew. In his will, he asked to be buried in Jerusalem in Israel. He died on December 20, 1982, at the age of 95. His body was cremated. On the first anniversary of his death, the urn holding his ashes was buried in the Artur Rubinstein Forest, which is situated in the forest of Amminadav, on the southwestern outskirts of Jerusalem.

A memorial look-out panoramic spot -- known colloquially in Hebrew as "Ha-Psanter" ("The Piano") and built in the shape of the keys of a piano -- has been built next to the grave where his urn is buried.
