Nowhere in scripture did Jesus advocate war. Jesus actually said the opposite. He said "love your neighbor as yourself".

ANOTHER ANSWER:

"There is a time for everything, a time for every activity under heaven... a time to kill and a time to heal... a time to tear and a time to mend... a TIME FOR WAR and a TIME FOR PEACE..." (Eccle.3:1-8 NLT New Living Translation)

Jesus makes it clear that the "war to end all wars" is coming... in spite of the wars throughout world history that various people have claimed to be timely "war-ending wars."

"...'If My Kingdom were of this world, THEN WOULD MY SERVANTS FIGHT..." (John 18:36 KJV).

The ultimate war Jesus advocates is the one HE WILL WAGE upon His return to earth with His Kingdom:

"...behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and IN RIGHTEOUSNESS HE DOTH Judge and MAKE WAR." (Rev.19:11)

"His ten horns are ten kings who have not yet risen to power; they will be appointed to their kingdoms for one brief moment to reign with the Beast... Together they will WAGE WAR AGAINST THE LAMB, but THE LAMB WILL DEFEAT THEM..." (Rev.17:12-14 NLT).

This GLOBAL "government-crushing, kingdom-crushing" war that Jesus will wage upon His return [see Dan.2:34-35 & 44-45) will result in "WORLD PEACE" for the nations of the world for a thousand years. A Peace held together by the Power of God.

[in the early development of the computer, men asked of it, "What is the key to obtaining world peace?" To which the computer replied after weighing the data, "POWER!." Overwhelming Power is necessary to obtain... and maintain... peace throughout the world]

And that Power is found in the Power of God... not the power of men.

"...the Government SHALL BE UPON HIS SHOULDER: and His name shall be Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the PRINCE OF PEACE. Of the increase of His Government and PEACE there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon His Kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with Judgment and with Justice henceforth even for ever. The ZEAL OF THE LORD of Hosts WILL PERFORM THIS." (Isa.9:6-7)

"...He shall Judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and THEY SHALL BEAT THEIR SWORDS INTO PLOWSHARES, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation SHALL NOT LIFT UP SWORD AGAINST NATION [God won't allow any more wars], NEITHER SHALL THEY LEARN WAR ANY MORE." (Isa.2:4)

Jesus will personally curtail all "sin" [disobedience to His Laws - I John 3:4], false religion, and wickedness among the nations of the world [which is the REASON most, if not all, wars have been waged throughout history]:

"...He shall not Judge after the sight of His eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of His ears: but WITH RIGHTEOUSNESS [in accordance with His Law: Ps:119:142 & 172] shall He Judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and He shall SMITE THE EARTH: with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips SHALL HE SLAY THE WICKED." (Isa.11:3-4)

Sin and wickedness isn't defeated by the wars of men. Peter was ready to fight for his Master when He was arrested:

"Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear... Then said Jesus unto Peter, 'Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which My Father hath given Me, shall I not drink it?" (John 18:10-11)

Peter didn't yet understand the war Jesus waged:

"For we wrestle [fight, wage war] not against flesh and blood, but... against spiritual wickedness in high places." (Eph.6:12)

The wars man wages don't end war... but sow the seeds of resentment and hatred for future ones. The war God advocates and wages is the one against the spiritual darkness in the hearts and minds of men. It's a war that shall result in the writing of God's Laws [Righteousness] in men's minds and on their hearts:

"...'this is the covenant that I will make... after those days,' saith the LORD; 'I will PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MIND, and WRITE THEM IN THEIR HEARTS... For I will be Merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins [past disobedience] and their iniquities will I remember no more.' (Heb.8:10)

Jesus advocates a very focused war of spiritual discernment against spiritual wickedness within us that eventually manifests itself into bloodshed, and the physical wars of men. But man is blinded to the nature of his true enemy: the god of this world whom he ignorantly chose to worship and obey in the beginning [see Gen.3 for details].

The only war that Our Blessed Lord ever refers to, that He advocates, is the war against the Evil One, which will be extremely violent, and, along with that, the war that we must make on ourselves-on our evil passions. When it comes to actual war, Our Blessed Lord, although recognizing that such would be the case, is more along the lines of putting up with the evil we cannot change. From the Christian Bible Reference Site:

Despite the immense evil of war, Jesus said it is inevitable that wars will continue until He returns (Mark 13:7-8), and He did not oppose earthly governments or their right to maintain armies (Matthew 8:5-10). Other New Testament passages accept the necessity of maintaining armies and the worthiness of military occupations (Luke 3:14, Acts 10:1-6)
