There is no scripture that deals with Jesus going to hell to get the keys to the kingdom.
When Jesus said (Matt. 16:17-19) that he was giving Peter the keys to the kingdom of heaven, he was using a metaphor, not referring to literal keys.
Jesus was declaring that Peter would be the one to bring the good news to the people, and explain to the people how they could go to heaven. That prophecy was fulfilled at Pentecost, when Peter preached the gospel to thousands of people, and large numbers accepted his message.
Some years later, Peter again demonstrated that Jesus had given him the power of "binding and loosing" when Peter established (under the power of the Holy Spirit working in him) the rule that non-Jews could enter the kingdom of heaven without being required to accept the Jewish law, or to become Jewish proselytes.
Hades in the Greek and Sheol in the Hebrew are most commonly translated as 'hell' or grave/pit in the English:
Revelation 1:17-18New King James Version (NKJV)
17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, "Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. 18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.
Paul's letters. It is hearsay an not confirmed as a fact.
Revelation 1:18
Nowhere, as that is not biblical.
It doesn't.
Nowhere; that is not in the Bible. Maybe another religious text, but not the Bible. That I KNOW for sure that is not in the Bible if that is what you were referring to....
there is no scripture in the bible that says that. when you die if you have made Jesus lord of your life, you will go to heaven and live eternally with him. if not, you go to eternal suffering in hell.
If you don't believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins, and that he , in fact, is God, you are going to hell.
No. If it is, everybody including Jesus would be in hell.
The bible never states that Jesus went to hell. There is no mention of Jesus taking a flower into hell with him.
There is no reference in Scripture to anyone going to Hell and returning to this world.AnswerThe only tentative reference is that of Jesus Christ's death and resurrection. In the Apostles' Creed we say that he 'was crucified, died and was buried, he descended to hell, and on the third day rose again'.However, great debate has asked whether or not he desecnded to 'hell' as we would know it or whether the Jewish 'place of the dead' Sheol) is a better description.
I don't believe you. You're going to go to hell.
once Jesus Christ come backs itll depend on if your in the book of life then your going to heaven if not then your going to hell
Jesus didn't visit hell because he has no right. Jesus is perfect and sinless so he can't go to hell. And anyway, who ever goes to hell can never come out and will have to die forever.
There is no such thing as a vampire. And if there were, the only way to not go to hell is to believe that Jesus Christ came to earth as a baby to save us from our sins.
Jesus went to Heaven when he died on Earth, not Hell.
Jesus.
