Isaiah 2:2-4 This is universal peace under the Millennial reign of Jesus Christ the Messiah (beginning after the Battle of Armageddon.) There will be one last rebellion after Christ has reigned for 1,000 years on the earth - when Satan is loosed from the abyss and goes throughout the earth to deceive those nations who, in their hearts, do not want a world-wide ruler and have longed for an opportunity to overthrow the Messiah. They will mobilize and surround the Messiah's capital and then God will send fire down from heaven and devour them. World peace will then continue forever.

Yes. In a macro sense, the Bible is about 30% prophecy of which the vast majority is yet to be fulfilled. Thus far, all that was told would occur at the near future of the time given, has. The 'world' is continuing to head for the prophetic conclusion as prophecy has foretold. Of course there is always a chance but I go by the bible prophecy and according to that certain events must still take place before Christ returns.
