There is a great difference between Wisdom and Knowledge.
The way the world sees wisdom and knowledge is different from the way God sees it. It is the wrong use of knowledge (the tree) which brought the world in its present state. God answer to that was Jesus who is the wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:30)
Wisdom is a correct use of knowledge, The Bible teaches on many place how God blessed certain people with knowledge or wisdom.
In Gods eyes knowing Him is true wisdom
As the Bible teaches that the world on the end is turning more and more away from Him it means the human race is becoming less wise.
So in the end the only thing the Bible teaches of which will be increased is knowledge (Daniel 12.4) which will bring destruction upon the human kind as without Wisdom (Jesus) it will be used wrongly.
There is no place in the Bible that says that verbatim, but there are scriptures relating to wisdom & man being weak in their own wisdom. When you hear people say "In the Bible it is says each generation will be more &/or wiser & wicked" That statement is not a scripture from the Bible. It's a formed statement of biblical references & the state of our children each generation.
Nowhere as put. However, the basic meaning as we get closer to the Millennial Rule is that generations will grow in 'knowledge' (not necessarily wiser) and will become 'spiritually' weaker or more distant from the ways of God. I would suggest reading Romans 1:21-22 and Daniel 12:4 to begin. See here:
2 Timothy 3:1-4New King James Version (NKJV)
Perilous Times and Perilous Men3 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
No.
Nothing like that in the Bible, and from my experience it seems that each generation is getting more foolish as well as weaker.
This phrase does not seem to originate from a specific source in literature or culture. It may be a general observation or reflection on changing societal norms and characteristics of younger generations.
II Samuel 3:1 says, 'Now there was long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: but David waxed stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul waxed weaker and weaker.'Each generation, the people grew stronger and weaker even though they were of two different houses. There is no such statement in the Bible.Others have said:A:I do not recall any such passage, so I started digging with Bible software that allows phrase searches as well as single-word searches. Having scoured five different translations using the keywords "children," "your children," "the children," "children will," and "weaker and wiser," I can report with some assurance that the Bible doesn't even come close to saying such a thing. (I can also report that the phrase, "The children of Israel" is probably the single most-often repeated phrase in the Old Testament!) Children aside, none of the translations I searched (KJV, NKJV, Standard, Douay Rheims and NIV) even contains the phrase, "weaker and wiser."A:It's somewhat surprising to discover that the word "weaker" appears in only two verses in the King James translation, and "wiser" only eight times. None of the references have anything to do with literal children as in "young people."A:The only verse that comes anywhere close to the statement in the question is the King James rendering of Luke 16:8 - And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light. There is no such statement in the Bible. The only verse in the King James version in which the word - wiser - and the word - children - appear isLuk 16:8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.
Yes, i think as time moves on, and as techinology evolves, our generation is going to be increasingly more smart.
This particular statement has been parroted down for decades by people who simply repeated it without research. Perhaps it could have been a misquotation of Dan 12:4 which reads, "But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end of time; many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase." NASU
It is difficult to make generalizations about an entire generation being wiser than another. Each generation faces its own unique challenges and has different experiences that shape their wisdom. Some individuals in my generation may be wiser than some individuals in my grandparents' generation, but it is not fair to make a blanket statement about the overall wisdom of a generation.
Each generation is raised differently. We all react and act differently. We all live differently. This is what makes each generation and family so different and unique.
it varied significantly from computer to computer within each generation with large overlaps from generation to generation but the running trend has been for greater storage capacity in each successive generation.
It differs in each Generation. See Related link for each Generation. Note that Lugia didn't exist in Generation I
There is no set amount in each generation, the amounts are as follows: Generation I - 151 Generation II - 256 Generation III - 202 Generation IV - 210 Generation V - 155 Generation VI - only 10 have so far been announced
There is no clear definition of new and old generation. Basically each generation consists of the children of the preceding generation.
