Mountain lions have been seen, but pose little threat to human visitors. Down by the Colorado River you will find Beavers and assorted fish, many of which are endangered. Visitors must be aware of Rattlesnakes and dangerous insects such as scorpions and Spiders. The Grand Canyon is a National Park, so all the animals within are protected and cannot be hunted.
