A:There is a well known story that Abraham perceived that his father's idols had no power, so he smashed all but one of them to the floor to prove his point. This story is not from The Bible, but is a Jewish midrash from the Common Era. It's called "guilding the lily" when the story we have is not good enough so we embellish it beyond recognition.
